Roshni Nadar Malhotra is Chairperson of HCLTech, a leading global technology company with a market capitalization of US$51 billion, and the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India. Under her leadership, HCLTech has expanded its global footprint and advanced its technology solutions, solidifying its position as the third-largest IT services provider in India, with over 219,000 employees across 60 countries.

As the Chairperson of HCLTech’s CSR Board Committee, Roshni’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility has been vital in amplifying the impact of HCLTech’s social initiatives. The HCLFoundation, guided by her, serves over 6.5 million individuals across the country.

Beyond her role at HCLTech, Roshni is a Trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. The Foundation has dedicated US$1.5 billion towards education, art, and culture since its inception. Roshni has been instrumental in steering the direction of the Foundation’s investments towards nation-building institutions like SSN Institutions, Shiv Nadar University Delhi-NCR, Shiv Nadar University Chennai, VidyaGyan Leadership Academies, Shiv Nadar Schools, and Shiksha Initiative, which currently support over 16,000 students and more than 2,700 faculty and staff. The Foundation also boasts a globally dispersed alumni community of over 26,000 individuals.

While Roshni is Trustee at the Shiv Nadar Foundation, she is Chairperson of the VidyaGyan Schools, a pioneering rural leadership academy aimed at nurturing meritorious students from rural areas.

Passionate about wildlife and conservation, Roshni founded The Habitats Trust in 2018. The Trust is dedicated to protecting India’s natural habitats and indigenous species, aiming to create and conserve sustainable ecosystems through strategic partnerships and collaborations. Additionally, Roshni leads the “Aquapreneur Innovation Initiative” in partnership with UpLink, the open innovation platform of the World Economic Forum. This initiative supports water-focused entrepreneurs or “aquapreneurs” who drive innovation in freshwater resource management.

She has been consistently listed among the Forbes “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.” She is a distinguished member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the MIT School of Engineering and serves on the Executive Board for Asia at the Kellogg School of Management. Her roles extend to the board of directors of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and the global board of directors of The Nature Conservancy (TNC). She also serves as one of three Conference Chairpersons of the St. Gallen Symposium and holds a position as an independent director on the board of HDFC Asset Management Company.

In 2024, she was honored with France’s highest civilian award, the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour).
